PKK number – what it is and how to get it
What is a PKK number?
The PKK number (Profil Kandydata na Kierowcę, driver candidate profile) is the document you need to start a course, book the exam and collect your driving licence. You get it at the Vehicle Registration Office (Wydział Komunikacji) for your registered address, based on a medical examination, a photo, an identity document and a copy of your driving licence (on the spot and free of charge).
Is this your next driving licence course?
You need a new PKK number for each new driving licence category. Ask the Vehicle Registration Office whether your earlier medical examination is also valid for the new category.
How to get a PKK number

Prepare the documents
- Driving licence medical examination. You can have it done by any doctor authorised to examine drivers, or at our office (cheaper) after you enrol in a course and pay a deposit. See the examination dates.
- Driving licence photo. Prepare one colour photo, 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, showing your face from the front (any photographer can take it).
- Identity document and driving licence. Prepare your ID card, a passport with your registered address, or a residence card.
Collect your PKK number
- In person: at the Vehicle Registration Office for your registered address. If you are under 18, come with a parent.
- Online (adults only): through the PWPW Electronic Inbox (ESP). If you have problems, write to PWPW technical support.
I already have a PKK. What next?
- if you chose a course with classroom theory – give us your PKK number and start the course!
- if you chose a course without theory or with online theory – pass the theory exam at WORD and come back to us for driving lessons!
You get your PKK number at the Vehicle Registration Office for your registered address – on the spot and free of charge. You can apply at a different office, but then the PKK number takes 2 weeks.
